Childcare
Course information This course offers learners a
recognised qualification and work experience in Early Years Care in
Education, as well as the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and
skills they will need to access further education and employment.
The level 2 NVQ course takes 12 months to complete, and the level
3 NVQ course 18 months. Learners attend a one-week induction course
before beginning work placements. They then attend work placements for
4 days a week throughout the course, supported by one day a week
training in Springboard Hackney. Examples of possible work placements
include private nurseries or preschools. These placements allow
learners to gain practical skills and experience in the real world of
work. All learners have the support of a Work Placement Officer.
At Springboard Hackney, the learning environment is friendly,
supportive and informal, both on the course, during work placement and
after. A Learner Support Worker is available to any learners
experiencing problems that may affect attendance or completion of the
course.
