This course offers learners a recognised
qualification and work experience in Information Technology, as well as
the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills they will need to
access further education and employment.
The level 2 NVQ course takes 12 months.
Learners attend a one-week induction course before beginning work placements. They then
attend work placements for 4 days a week for the duration of their training,
supported by one day a week training in Springboard Hackney. Examples
of possible work placements include large and small private companies
in the local area, in the City and the West End of London. These
placements allow learners to gain practical skills and experience in
the real world of work. All learners have the support of a Work
Placement Officer.
At Springboard Hackney, the learning
environment is friendly, supportive and informal. A Learner Support
Worker is available to any learners experiencing problems.

Who is the course for?
16-24
year olds living in East London. No previous qualifications are needed
for these courses but a strong commitment to succeed is essential. An
assessment is held every Thursday afternoon, with an invitation to
interview a few days later.
Additional support
Learners are entitled to a training allowance of £40 per week. We can also offer help with travel expenses and childcare costs.
